environmental photo shoots
are portrait sessions that happen in a place or setting that holds significance for the subject.
a place that reveals something about the subject's life, e.g., home, school, church, workplace, place where a couple met, got engaged , favorite eatery etc. can make an image more meaningful.
photo shoots are collaborations. discuss your ideas with your photographer. clothing, lighting etc. are all important elements.

their first date was at a "sip and paint" studio where they enjoyed wine while painting a romantic image of a couple with a red umbrella in Paris at the Eiffel Tower.
that first date became the inspiration for their engagement session.
a visit to Paris was not in the cards, but a red umbrella, imagination and love were!
did i mention this is the spot where he proposed and she said yes?

the red camera pictured below is a 75 year old large format camera first produced in the 1800's.
it is modified with an attachment that allows us to make instant photographs.
no digital - totally analog - one of a kind keepsakes

how about a camera that is fitted with a radioactive lens ?
yes, radioactive.
from the World War II era.
created for military applications, these lenses are the sharpest and fastest of their time. and they are still among the best today.
the radioactivity level is not harmful to humans, but is enough to have yellowed the glass as the years passed.
for color film only, that yellowing adds a beautiful , subtle warmth to the portraits.
if we create polaroids for your guests with the radioactive lens,
can we call them the "hottest" pics ever?
